Abstract:
This study reconstructs the hierarchy of sources in Stanislaw Bielicki, SJ’s Niedziele kaznodziejskie (1712). Close reading of the original edition shows that Scripture provides the normative and liturgical horizon; patristic and scholastic voices mediate interpretation and moral distinctions; Polish historical memory localises obligation; and classical exempla intensify persuasion. Latin quotation and Polish paraphrase reveal deliberate adaptation to differentiated audiences. The article argues that Bielicki’s authority is enacted as entrusted mediation rather than private possession of theological truth, while also noting uncertain attributions, decontextualisation, and the risk that prestige may replace argument.
